What is Cystic Fibrosis (CF)?

CF is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. A defective gene causes the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucous that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections, obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food. The predicted median age of survival for a person with CF is now more than 37 years old.

Digestive
*SourceCF vitamin (1/day)

*Creon 12 (3 before each meals and snacks)
*Miralax (1 tsp with each meal)

Respiratory/Pulmonary

*Ventolin (4 puffs/day via Aerochamber)
*Pulmozyme (1x/day via nebulizer)
*Hypertonic Saline 7% (2x/day via nebulizer)
*Cayston (3x/day via nebulizer - 28 days on/off)
*Oscillating Vest Treatment (30 minutes - 2x/day)
Sinus
*Nasacort (1 squirt in each nostril/day)
Antibiotic/Anti-Inflammatory
*Zithromax (5 mL M W F only)

Allergies

*Zytrec (5 mL 1x/day)
